You must be here to find out either is Zedge app harmful or not since you have got the notification from Google Play Store that Zedge tries to attack smartphones and other mobile devices, right? If so, then you have landed in the right place to find out either is Zedge safe or dangerous to use in 2019.

Actually, we don’t think Zedge is a scam or harmful anymore. It seems for a certain time it got some bugs that seem to be fixed by now. We can say this because now you can find the Zedge app available again to download and install from Google Play Store. It was removed by Google for around 72 hours.

What is Zedge? Is Zedge Scam or Legit?

Zedge is a phone personalization app available at Zedge.net which can be downloaded from Google Play Store or App Store. Zedge helps users to customize their smartphones and other mobile devices.

Zedge already has more than 100,000,000+ installs in Android. Zedge was initially released in 2003 and until September 2019, it was doing good. However, recently Google sent a notification to the Zedge users that Zedge may be harmful to their device. But, now Google has already put back the Zedge app on Google Play Store to download and install once again which proves they have now sorted out the problem.

Zedge app was only suspended for around 72 hours from Google Play Market. So, we can’t say Zedge is harmful or scam just because it was suspended for 72 hours from Google Play Market since it has been online from a very long time with lots of satisfied users.

However, we don’t mean you should ignore Google’s notifications. If Google notifies you some app is harmful, then you must delete that app immediately until you find that safe to use again because the legit app also gets attack by scammers or sometimes get some technical problem. So, whenever you find Google notification, don’t ignore that. But at the same time, keep on checking the status of the app. Once you delete the harmful app, keep on checking the status of the app by searching that app in Google Play Store. If you find that app again available to download and install from Google Play Store, then that means you can use that app again. The same is the case with Zedge. Since now Google has already made Zedge available to download and install, so you can use it again.

Update form the Zedge: “We experienced being suspended from Google Play for 72 hours due to a bug within one of our 3rd party integrations causing excessive network latency testing. We appealed the suspension to Google, which was approved, and we removed the 3rd party integration and submitted a new version to Google Play. As of now, the situation has been resolved.” As per this update, it looks like now it is safe to use Zedge once again. Even it is already available to download and install on Google Play Store. However, we want to hear from you. So, please feel free to share with us either you want to use the Zedge app again or not using the comment section below.
