So, don’t misunderstand Shoptimized due to those scam sites which are using the Shoptimized theme.
What is MyShopify.com?
MyShopify.com is a free domain provided by Shopify.com to create an online store under the Shopify platform. For example, “yourdomainname.myshopify.com”. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t have a private domain using the Shopify platform. If you want to have your own domain while using the Shopify store, then you can purchase the domain and create your own private domain website using the Shopify platform.
Since Shopify provides multiple easy ways to create online stores, now scammers are misusing this good platform. Yes, there are tons of legit online stores operating under the Shopify platform. But, at the same time, there are also tons of scam online stores operating under Shopify.
Now, you may want to know how to identify those Shopify scam online stores from the legit ones, right? Well, we are definitely going to explain that later, but first of all, we want to let you know that Shopify is concerned about their company’s reputation. So, if you find Shopify scam online stores, then you can report that to Shopify and Shopify will take down that after doing research.
OK, now let’s find out how to identify these scam online stores using MyShopify domain and Shoptimized theme.
How to identify scam Shoptimized and MyShopify online stores from the legit ones?
- Whenever you find any online stores, the first thing you should check is their contact information such as their company’s address, contact phone number and so on. Most of the scam online stores don’t provide any contact details. But, some scam online stores try to trick people by providing fake contact information. So, if you find any online stores with contact information, don’t follow them blindly. At least try to do some research and check the provided contact information are correct or not.
- Most of the time scam online stores offer a heavy discount on the price of products. So, if you find any online stores offering a heavy discount on the price of products, don’t fall into that blindly. At least try to find out the real price of those products on a genuine website and then try to figure out how much discount can be offered on such items. If you find some online stores are offering a discount which is too good to be true, then that must not be true.
- Scam online stores also don’t care about the security of their websites. So, try to check either the websites are secured or not. Check all the trust seal logos such as Norton or McAfee or VeriSign and so on provided on those sites are fake or real. The real ones should be clickable so that we can click on them which should send us to the official verification webpage of respective trust seal providers. All unclickable trust seal logos are the fake ones. Similarly, all clickable trust seal logos which don’t send us to the official verification webpages of respective trust seal providers when we click on them are the ones providing the fake trust seals. Some scam online stores may not provide the fake trust seals, but still, you can check either they have secured their website properly or not by checking all the provided security measures. If they haven’t provided any security measures, then that means they are not secured and not good online stores.
- Most of the time, scam online stores copy-paste their website details from other websites. So, try to find out the website details of those online stores match with other websites or not. Such as their Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, About Us details, Product details and so on. Scam online stores also don’t give enough time to design their website due to which scam online stores always look untidy.
- Most of the Shoptimized and MyShopify scam online stores are selling almost same items such as Video Game Consoles, Swing Chair, Garden Furniture, Construction Accessories, Children’s Playgrounds, Children’s Electric Cars, Tools, Outdoor Electric Cars, Patio Furniture, Mini Excavator, etc. So, if you find any Shopify online stores selling these items on a heavy discount price, then you should be more alert and do more research on those online stores before purchasing anything from there.
Now you must be aware of Shopify and Shoptimized scam online stores, but that doesn’t mean scam online stores are only using the Shopify and Shoptimized platforms. There are uncountable scam online stores these days which are operating from various hosting platforms. So, don’t fall into scam online stores just because they are operating under a reputed hosting platform. Always do your own research before purchasing anything from unknown online stores.
Actually, many people fall into the scam online stores due to the very low product price that most of the scam online stores offer on relative products. However, instead of falling for that, avoid them. If you find something too good to be true, then you should know that may not be true. So, don’t fall into the trap of scammers just because they attract you with flashy design, attractive products, and a very low price. Instead, you must know that is a sign of bad online stores.

Early on, I got scammed on a handicap cart. I reported to my credit card company…99.99. They did get in touch with the so called company and they produced a document from the postal office showing that the product was delivered. In small print it said the product was a small key chain. The credit card company notified me saying they were closing the case and I had no claim. I did receive a key chain, but had no idea why or where it was from. I told the credit company to read the whole document…99.99 for a key chain?????? They did, returned to the contact and got the money back..FYI

Shoptimized the company isn’t responsible for these scam stores. It’s just a tool.
It’s like Microsoft “tech support”. It’s con artist’s piggybacking off of a legitimate company’s credibility.
With any ecommerce store, always pay with a credit card company that gives you the power to dispute charges. It’s a shame that con artists have swindled this many people using a legitimately great product for Shopify.

I use the theme for Shoptimized every day. The issue that’s come up is NOT the fault of Shoptimized but the scam artists that are using their logo.
It’s like the fake tech support calls from “microsoft”, even though they have nothing to do with Microsoft.
Due to the popularity of the theme, much like Microsoft, it’s bound to happen where the trust is ‘piggybacked’ and exploited.

Shoptimized is also a victim of these scammers.
The perpetrators of these scams are in no way affiliated with the registered trademark, Shoptimized.
Shoptimized is a software business and does not own any online stores trading under that name.
These scam artists are using the Shoptimized logo illegally.
You can read more about Shoptimized here: http://shoptimized.net/theme
They have also published some information for victims here: https://shoptimized.net/scam-fraud/

Too good to be true.
$700 worth of tools for $99.
PJ Guerrero (Friday, 13 March 2020 23:47)
GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT EVERYONE! Shoptimized has nothing to do with this, I’ve been seeing a lot of negative reviews circulating in Facebook about getting scammed.
Oh please, the prices are “TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE” for instance, how can you purchase a mini car for only around 100 bucks whereas the original price is somewhere around 1000-2000 bucks? The shipping fee itself for the product is not even close to 100$ though.
And their store url is funny, just random texts.

I have been using Shoptimized theme for several years, it is a nice and convenient instrument for sales. The issue that’s come up is definitely NOT the fault of Shoptimized, the scammers just using their logo, which is sad. Shoptimized became a victim of scammers, because of the popularity of their theme. As somebody mentioned before it is common to the “support calls from microsoft”.

I was also cheated by Banc de binary. in first step I lost $1250. My account manager- Mr. Brace gave me 90% incorrect signals and always pushed me to open trades with high amount of money such as my first trade was with $1000 and I lost it, then he gave me a bonus for the same value and again I lost all. I complained to their management and they agreed to gave me $500 credit just to trade, again another guy named George called me and tried to cheat me to deposit $5000 and when I did not accept he became angry and tried to cheat me in another me so asked me to open a trade for 50% of my account, but I opened it with 10% and I lost it. It is obvious that they try to you lose your money. They make money when you lose money. for Optionrally I had same issue and my manager gave me 10 signals 100% incorrect and I lost $3500.
I saw someone recommend ULTIMATEFUNDRECOVERY@GMAIL.COM and honestly I contacted him and sincerely his services were really worth it because he got all my issues rectified in full.

An ad came up on Facebook for a really nice chicken coop on a website called Shoptimized. I decided to check it out. The url that came up is: ygrtnn.com. That was the first flag. ygrtnn? The second flag is the ridiculous price. $77.70 for a chicken coop with a 10×10 foot run? Nah. You can’t even get a used coop without a run for less than $100. I know, because I’ve been searching for a couple of days (which is no doubt why the ad came up.) It’s too bad; I really love the chicken coop and would like to find a legitimate place to buy it.
