Have you recently got the following types of text messages in the name of Costco?

• "Costco: NAME, the code 52344 printed on your receipt 18 came in 2nd in our AirPods raffle: d6gvr .info/uasjjHmu28A"
• "Costco: NAME, your code 04954 printed on your receipt from 20 came in 2nd in our iPhone raffle: d2gzr .info/fQSn7z27QXw"
• "Costco: NAME, your code 57218 printed on your receipt from 19 came in 1st in our AirPods draw: d6gvr .info/uatZKYDhRV"
• "Dear Costco member, you have received your annual 2% reward! Refer to the link below to redeem : rewards-wholesaleclub .net"
• "Costco: NAME, your code 93418 printed on your receipt from 28 came in 2nd in our iPhone raffle: d5guz .info/vpaS1MDvUm"
• "COSTCO ANNUAL MEMBER REWARD Your annual 2% reward coupon of $156.39 is ready to be redeemed. See: https://pillcompact .com/costco-redeem-2-percent-reward/"
• "Costco: NAME, your code 15294 printed on your receipt from 24 came in 1st in our AirPods draw: d4gsr .info/rYC5UL5hNi"

If you have got messages similar to the above examples, then you should know those are phishing messages send with the intention to scam you. That’s why you should not click any link provided on such messages (if provided any), or download anything from such messages, or call the number provided on such messages, or reply to such messages, or follow any instruction provided on such messages.

You may also get slightly different kinds of messages but if those messages look similar to the above example, then definitely you should delete those messages.

If you ever get confused and want to know either the message you received is a scam or legit, then you can contact the respective companies by directly going through their official website. For example, if you got a message in the name of Costco, then you should contact Costco to confirm the legitimacy of that message.

The main motive of these kinds of fraudulent messages is to steal your personal information which they will try to do in the following ways:

• By asking you to click the malicious link provided on the message which can hack your device.
• By tricking you to submit your credentials on the clone sites that look exactly similar to the renowned legit sites but with different domain names.
• By asking you to reply to them or call them back. If you respond to them, then they will trick you to submit your personal details.
• so on.

Now you may be thinking about what they will do with your personal information, right? Well, they can sell that to third parties and make money out of that. If they got your credit card information or other payment processor details, they can directly steal your money.
